Featherweight fibre-reinforced Pavilion by Suttgart University researchers

"The latest in a series of research pavilions in Stuttgart has now been realised. Taking its approach and design from the field of bionics, the 2014/2015 version is inspired by the way in which the diving bell water spider constructs a reinforced air bubble to survive under water....In this year’s case an initially flexible pneumatic formwork was gradually stiffened by reinforcing it with carbon fibres from the inside.

A film on the project and further information can be accessed here."

"Liquid Spaces features a wide spectrum of unconventional environments ranging from experimental installations to complex productions. Each one of these spaces plays with the boundaries of human perception, triggering sensual encounters that activate the senses in surprising ways."

The Brewery Yard by Tzannes

"From the Architect: This project integrates the plant equipment for a tri-generation plant with the historic Carlton and United Brewery building on the fringe of the
Sydney CBD... We developed an innovative formal solution to this problem where the
form of the new work arose from the integration of complex profile of the existing roofline with the organic regular form of the plant equipment within."
